The Vets

Peter Sowerby
Peter Sowerby BVM&S MRCVS – Director

Peter graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990. He comes from a dairy farming background and so has a strong interest in farm work. In the past Peter has worked at both equine and farm practices, increasing his knowledge and interest in many aspects of large animal health. After becoming a partner at Kenwyn in 2007 Peter has worked hard to offer our clients the best service that we can.

Farm: Fertility, Herd health and TB matters, Infectious disease control, Pig health and treatment
Equine: Lameness, Dentistry, Fertility and Pre-purchase vettings
Hobbies: Running, Cycling, and surfing (badly)

Guy Vaughan
Guy Vaughan BSc(hons) BVSc MRCVS - Director

Guy hails from Truro and returned as a Veterinary Surgeon following his graduation from Bristol University in 2008. He became a director at Kenwyn in 2012 and is dedicated to providing a high quality service, as well as organising topical meetings to offer advice and knowledge to clients.

Farm: Cattle health, productivity and fertility, lameness management and bovine surgery. Camelids and castrations.
Equine: Fertility, internal medicine and performance issues, dentistry.
Hobbies: Has a small herd of Dorset sheep, and Cornish Lop pigs, supplying local farm shop and restaurant. Retired from playing rugby due to broken knees, but still a keen Wales supporter.

Tracy Anderton
Dr Tracy Anderton BVSc PhD MRCVS

Tracy graduated from Liverpool University in 1994. Having initially worked at Kenwyn she left to complete a PhD at Cambridge, before returning to us at the practice in 1996 she worked as a large animal intern at Bristol university veterinary school, furthering her interest and knowledge in bovine health.

Farm: Dairy herd health, productivity, fertility and challenging sick cows
Hobbies: Gardening & running, swimming, taking the kids to the beach and walking her puppy ‘Buzz’

Tina Drew

Tina graduated from R(D)VC, Edinburgh in May 2016, moving all the way down from Somerset to sunny Cornwall. She has a keen interest in both farm and equine work, and at the beginning of the year she was able to combine it with her love for travel, by seeing practice in Australia and last year in New Zealand.

Farm: Castrations and calving’s, bovine surgeries. Sheep illness and flock health and lambing’s.
Equine: Lameness, wounds, poor performance investigations.
Hobbies: Horse riding and eventing, hockey and a keen young farmer.

Sinaed Kenna
Sinead Kenna BVMedSci BVmBVS MRCVS

Sinead graduated from Nottingham University in 2015 and is the newest addition to the Kenwyn team of vets. After a month living with nomadic horse people in Mongolia, she joined a mixed practice in East Cornwall as an equine vet. After a year there she decided to expand her repertoire and joined a mixed practice in East Devon, dealing with all animals from the large to the very small. Having decided large animals were her true passion, she now joins us.

Farm: Calving’s, bovine surgery, calf health and treatment.
Equine: Respiratory investigation, lameness investigations and intensive care.
Hobbies: Surfing, snowboarding, horse riding and rock climbing
